For those of you sick enough to want to know how many Death Watchers picked certain would be mulch, this page is for you. The Guys at the O.B.E. have slaved and toiled with compass, slide rule, abacus and six pack to come up with these numbers. So, with little further fanfare, here they friggin' are:

125 lists were entered into the 2005 Old Blue Eyes Memorial Celebrity Death Watch. This should result in a total of 1,625 total names entered. However, two players entered lists that were short one pick and one player entered a list short two picks. In addition, one player entered a list without an alternate and then needed to exercise the alternate rule. So, that eliminates five pick postions, making the adjsuted total picks come down to 1,620 total names entered.

Now, of those 1,620 names entered, 498 different celebrities were picked to eat it by the end of 2005. The issue, as always, is that a handful of them had already eaten. Yup, four entries had a celebrity pick that was already dead. One of these four went so far as to have Burgess Merideth, a guy who is not just dead, he's long dead!
That means we adjust the total active picks down to 494 different celebrities.

To recap, that's 125 entries listing a total of 494 individual celebrities.

Of the 494 celebrities picked to buy the farm, 281 (56.9%) were on only one list (the Tad Szulcs), 79 (16.0%) were on only two lists (the double whammies), and the remaining 134 (27.1%) were on three or more lists.

The number one pick this year was POPE JOHN PAUL II. KAROL appears on 82 (65.6%) lists . Coming up next in line is LADY BIRD JOHNSON. LADY BIRD appears on a hearty 48 (38.4) lists. Our third most frequent pick was KIRK DOUGLAS. KIRK appears on 38 (30.4) lists.
